Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Effective October 25, 2026. Last updated October 25, 2026.

In short

Some US state laws give you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising. hockeytape.ca does none of these things, so you are already opted out. You can still email [email protected] with any request.

hockeytape.ca is owned and operated by Scott Plumptree, an individual in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

If you live in California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Oregon or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information and of targeted advertising.

We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use it for targeted advertising or profiling. The site sets no advertising cookies, pixels or tracking tools. Every visitor is already opted out.

1. What “Sell” or “Share” Means

Under California law and similar US state privacy laws:

  • “Sell” means transferring personal information to a third party for money or other value.
  • “Share” and “targeted advertising” include providing information for cross-context behavioural advertising.

This can include cookies, pixels and tracking tools used for advertising. hockeytape.ca uses none of them. Sponsored placements on the site involve no tracking of visitors.

2. Your Rights

Depending on your state, you have the right to:

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • Opt out of targeted advertising and certain profiling
  • Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information
  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information

We do none of the activities these opt-outs cover, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information. Access and deletion requests are handled through our Data Subject Access Request page.

3. Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. The site is free for everyone, and making a request will not change what you can see or do on it.

4. Verification

An opt-out request does not need identity verification. For access or deletion requests, we may need to verify your identity first. If we deny a request, you may have the right to appeal under applicable law.

5. Authorized Agents and Global Privacy Control (GPC)

You may name an authorized agent to make a request for you. We may ask the agent for proof of your written authorization and, where the law allows, ask you to verify your identity directly with us.

Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for a Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. Your browser’s GPC signal is consistent with how the site already works.

6. How to Submit a Request

Email [email protected]. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires.
