AI and Automated Processing Disclosure

1. Where We Use AI

hockeytape.ca is run by Scott Plumptree in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Parts of the site were made with the help of AI tools, including:

Code, including the 3D engine
Text
3D renders

A person reviewed all of it before it went live.

The site has no chatbot or virtual assistant, and it uses no AI to profile visitors or target advertising.

2. Data Involved

The site collects personal information only through two optional forms, the “Share your story” form and the advertising enquiry form. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Two simple automated checks run on the forms: a hidden spam trap and a timestamp that block bots. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, also filters bot traffic automatically to protect it from abuse. These checks look for automated abuse. They do not make decisions about people.

3. Human Oversight

A person reads every submission. Scott Plumptree decides which stories to edit and publish and replies to enquiries himself. The site makes no automated decisions about people.

4. Accuracy

AI-assisted content is checked by a person, but it may still contain errors. Everything on the site is general information, not professional or safety advice. League rules change, so check your league’s current rules. See our Terms of Use.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Both forms are optional. You can also email us directly instead.

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, under the privacy laws that apply to you. Write to [email protected].

6. AI Crawling of Our Site

Our robots.txt file welcomes search engines and AI assistants to read the site’s public pages. Rights in our text, images and 3D renders remain governed by our Terms of Use.
